Catawba River Women, by Carla Linster – Aug 2

Webb's Orchards Juicy Peaches |
Carla took these photos recently at the Mount Holly Farmers Market and asked that we run them to encourage everyone to visit this great community resource, as well as the River District's equally important Belmont Farmers Market. As the photos below show, the Mount Holly market has a great variety of offerings.
Our fellow blogger and farmer Jeffie Hardin wrote on Monday that this summer has been a tough one for many local growers due to both the high heat and violent thunderstorms. She says the farmers greatly appreciate your support anytime but especially now, and the best way to show that support is to come and buy their produce.
- The Belmont Farmers Market is open 3:30-6:30 Fridays in the empty lot near 23 N. Main St. in downtown Belmont. CLICK to visit the market's Facebook page and learn much more.
- The Mount Holly Market is open 8 a.m.-noon at 130 S. Main St. in downtown Mount Holly. CLICK to visit the market's Facebook page to learn much more.

About Carla Linster – Carla is enjoying a “mid-life spring”
after overcoming several medical problems. One new joy is working with “an
amazing group of women,” the Catawba River Women’s Group, as they seek to
create a sense of unity among communities along the Catawba River.
